Greetings From Jupiter Mural
About This Project
The Greetings From Jupiter mural is a large scale vintage postcard style wall created by Mark Francis, professionally known as Bulk Styles, in his hometown of Jupiter, Florida. Designed to echo the charm of mid century travel postcards, the mural transforms a blank exterior wall into a vibrant tribute to the town's coastal identity, landmarks, and natural beauty.
Bold, dimensional lettering spells out "Jupiter," with each letter containing hand painted scenes that represent the area's most recognizable imagery. From the iconic red Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and turquoise Atlantic waters to native wildlife and tropical landscapes, every panel captures a distinct element of what makes the town unique. Clean black outlines and graphic drop shadows give the composition a crisp, retro feel, while saturated Florida blues, warm sunset tones, and lush greens bring the mural into a modern visual language.
Inspired by classic "wish you were here" postcards, the mural balances nostalgia with contemporary mural execution. The playful script and smiling sun reference vintage Americana design, while the detailed rendering inside each letter reflects Mark's precision and large scale craftsmanship. The result is a mural that feels both timeless and current, rooted in tradition but unmistakably Bulk Styles.
As the first and only Jupiter vintage postcard style mural in town, the piece quickly became a recognizable visual landmark. Its strong graphic presence and local symbolism make it highly photographable, encouraging community engagement and social media sharing. Visitors and residents alike interact with the wall as both a backdrop and a point of hometown pride.
The mural was commissioned as part of Going Home with Tyler Cameron, offering viewers a behind the scenes look at Mark bringing the artwork to life. Featured during the show's first season, the project highlights his ability to merge personal connection, place based storytelling, and professional mural execution. Painting in his own hometown added a deeper layer of meaning, reinforcing the mural's role as both public art and personal tribute.
The Greetings From Jupiter mural stands as a celebration of community identity, coastal culture, and creative expression. It demonstrates how a custom city postcard mural can elevate a public space, strengthen local pride, and serve as a lasting landmark that reflects the energy and character of the place it represents.

Design Concept
Developing the Artwork
The Greetings From Jupiter mural began with a focused design goal: create a vintage postcard style wall that felt authentic to Jupiter while standing out as a bold public landmark. Early concept development centered on strong typography, balanced layout, and selecting recognizable local imagery to feature inside each letter.
The color palette drew inspiration from classic Florida travel posters and Jupiter's natural coastal tones. Turquoise ocean blues, warm sunset hues, palm greens, and the iconic red lighthouse were layered to create contrast, vibrancy, and strong visibility from a distance.
Because the mural relies on dimensional lettering and detailed interior scenes, site planning was essential. The wall length and viewing angles were studied to ensure the word "Jupiter" reads clearly from afar while rewarding close up viewers with intricate painted details. Drop shadows and graphic outlines were carefully mapped to enhance depth and legibility in natural sunlight.
Professional scaling techniques ensured precise alignment and proportion across the entire word. As an exterior coastal installation, proper surface preparation, high quality exterior paints, and a protective finish were used to maintain durability against sun, humidity, and weather exposure.
The result is a custom city postcard mural that balances nostalgic design with modern mural execution, celebrating Jupiter with clarity, color, and lasting impact.

The Impact of the Artwork
Murals inside hospitality environments often become a defining feature of the space. Guests naturally gravitate toward bold artwork, making it a popular backdrop for photos and social media.
For Mack House Brew Pub, the mural contributes to the overall atmosphere of the brewery while reinforcing the creative and energetic personality of the brand.
Large scale artwork helps businesses create environments that feel distinctive and memorable. The mural now serves as a visual centerpiece within the brewery space.
